WE'RE A TOP EMPLOYER UK FOR THE THIRD YEAR RUNNING!

At BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK, we’re delighted to have been recognised as one of the top employers in the country and Europe for the third year running.
This announcement makes us the fifth European division of BNP Paribas Personal Finance to achieve Top Employer status for the third year in a row, meaning the wider BNP Paribas Personal Finance group was also named a Top Employer in Europe for 2023. Only companies certified in a minimum of five European countries are awarded this special recognition.
Being named as a Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute (the global authority on recognising excellence in People Practices) showcases our dedication to a better world of work and reinforces our commitment to be a role model employer.
How it works
The Top Employers Institute programme certifies organisations based on the participation and results of its HR Best Practices Survey. This year, there was increased competition, as 195 more organisations applied for the accreditation compared to 2022.
The survey covers six HR domains consisting of 20 topics ranging from talent acquisition to colleague wellbeing. The topic score breakdown shared by the Top Employers Institute revealed that BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK scored over 80% across all 20 areas and 100% in seven topic areas: Ethics & Integrity, Business Strategy, Organisation & Change, Digital HR, Performance, Engagement and Purpose & Values.
Commitment to diversity and inclusion
In our feedback from the awarding body, we were praised for our strong focus on diversity and inclusion. To ensure diversity and inclusion is embedded in our culture and throughout our policies and procedures, we currently have seven D&I networks and two committees in place including Women in Business, Helping Hands, Disability, Multicultural Empowerment, Pride, Early Careers, Wellbeing, Financial Wellbeing, and Sustainability. In addition, all the committees have a D&I champion leading the sessions to encourage open and honest discussions that are regularly reviewed in committee meetings.
Engagement
As a result of our clear and defined engagement strategy, our high levels of employee engagement were also applauded, with the strong results of our anonymous ‘Pulse Surveys’ helping us to understand what our colleagues are thinking.
Every department across the company has a ‘Change Ambassador’ that voices feedback on behalf of colleagues, ensuring everyone’s feelings are listened to and acknowledged. We then use the feedback to inform our annual action plans, where we focus on the strengths of the company and discuss areas to improve.
What’s more, our annual Be the Difference Awards enables us to highlight the fantastic achievements of both individuals and teams across the company, boosting team morale and engagement.
Wellbeing
Supporting our colleagues’ wellbeing is central to BNP Paribas Personal Finance and it was rewarding to see it recognised and highly commended by the awarding body. In addition to flexible working polices and contributions towards child care, we provide colleagues with several network and committee groups to help them with their individual problems.
A big focus in 2022 was supporting our female colleagues with the menopause by normalising the conversation through committees and guest speakers tackling important topics. An app has also been made available for colleagues to provide guidance on menopause, fertility and pregnancy.
Stephen Hunt, CEO at BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK, says: “As a business, we are focused on always doing the right thing, which is why we are so proud to be recognised as a role model employer by the Top Employers Institute for the third year running!
“Our commitment to making BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK a great place to work is at the heart of everything we do. Throughout the past year, we’ve accelerated our mission to create supportive working environments for all our colleagues and provide opportunities to learn and grow. Not resting on our laurels, we know there is still more to be done and that is a key focus of our strategy this year to create an even better place to work.”
Top Employers Institute CEO David Plink says: “Exceptional times bring out the best in people and organisations. And we have witnessed this in our Top Employers Certification Programme this year: exceptional performance from the certified Top Employers 2023.
“These employers have always shown that they care for the development and well-being of their people. By doing so, they collectively enrich the world of work. We are proud to announce and celebrate this year’s group of leading people-oriented employers: the Top Employers 2023.”
